Description: The Unfiltered History Tour is a guerrilla tour of the British Museum’s stolen artefacts via Instagram Augmented Reality filters. Visitors to the Museum can scan 10 disputed artefacts through their mobiles and see them teleported back to their home countries. Experts from their homelands narrate the truth behind their origins. The film created a dystopian 3D version of the British Museum featuring its most disputed artefacts. The voices of native history experts form the base of the film along with an hauntingly evocative original music piece. The entire budget for the film was $6000. Every crew member opted in at a fraction of their standard fee because of our shared intergenerational impact of colonialism. A job that would normally have needed a whole animation studio to execute was in this case completed by six people. A crew this tiny meant that it took 4x the time it would take to pull off a film of this production value.
