|Idea: Every dog has it's day. But they do stupid things on most other days. Things by which they can hurt themselves. The idea was to show these situations most pet parents are privy to on a daily basis. To drive home the point of pet insurance, a largely new concept that most people don't consider.
Direction: We wanted to handle the subject sensitively. Not just from a shoot and pet safety point of view, but also because when it comes to dogs, they carry out all their mischief either with a sense of innocence or goodwill. And we wanted the film to embody that.
The brief on the day of the shoot to the crew was, "Let's take care of the dogs, the dogs will take care of the films". It was supposed to be a fun day out for them. They were treated like celebrities with their own rooms and treat (craft) table.
We went in with a roster of extra situations and prepped for them, so we stopped shots the moment we felt that a dog were uncomfortable doing something and discarded the situation. And moved on to a more friendly situation.
