Description: | Madhya Pradesh, the state that lies at the heart of India, is as big, warm and colourful as you'd expect the heart of an Indian to be. With so much to see and experience in MP, the communication challenge is always about how to convey the richness and the vastness of the state. Most Indians believe in the concept of rebirth. It's an integral part of the culture. One has to be born several times, the concept goes, before one attains 'Moksha' and is freed from this cycle of birth, death & rebirth. We used this concept to make the point that MP has so much to offer that you'll need many, many births to experience it. MP being a state with one of the largest forest areas in India naturally gave the inspiration for the various animals you can be born as and see MP. The tribal Gond Art, an indigenous art form from MP that goes back thousands of years, became the medium to express this journey. And the native storytelling art from of a travelling bard became the anchor, the narrator who enthrals the audience with their tale of the magic of MP. |
English Translation: | Storyteller to the audience: It takes more than one lifetime to see the amazing state of Madhya Pradesh. You'll have to be born again and again. Want to hear my story? Audience: Yes! Yes! Storyteller: I was first born as a tiger and saw the Pench Sanctuary. In my second life, I became a monkey to see the wilds of Panna. In the next life, a butterfly, to see the wilds of Bandhavgarh. But I just couldn't see all of MP! Then, I was born as an ant to see the ancient caves of Bheembetaka. In the next life, I became a songbird to see the hills of Satpura. Next birth, a peacock to see the Khajuraho's rare architecture. And then, a flying squirrel to see the palaces of Orchcha. But I just couldn't see all of MP! In the next birth, I became a parrot to see holy Omkareshwar. And then, a mynah to see the majestic Mandu. In the next life, I saw grand Gwalior. Followed by serene Shivpuri. But I just couldn't see all of MP! I traced the river Narmada at a tortoise's pace. I fell in love with MP. But I just couldn't see all of it! If you too visit MP, you're bound to return again and again. Such is the magic of MP, the heart of incredible India. |
